Dunkin-style frozen coffee in a Ninja SLUSHi

For Dunkin-style frozen coffee in a Ninja SLUSHi, begin with a SLUSHi coffee frappé recipe and choose a coffee-and-syrup flavour you like. Use the recipe’s liquid base and preset; a restaurant drink blended with ice is not a ready-made SLUSHi formula.

Choose frozen coffee or frozen chocolate first

Looking for a “Dunkin milkshake”? The useful flavour references here are Frozen Coffee and Frozen Chocolate. Dunkin uses those names in its own flavour guide.

For a coffee drink, choose a SLUSHi coffee recipe. For a chocolate drink without a coffee base, start with Ninja’s chocolate milkshake recipe. Do not just remove the coffee from a frappé formula: that changes the batch volume and ingredient proportions.

Keep the flavour idea; use a SLUSHi method

In its 2017 launch explanation, Dunkin described coffee extract blended with ice and dairy.

For your machine, Ninja’s Coffee Frappé provides a liquid recipe with a specified preset. For caramel, the Slushable Caramel Espresso Frappe provides a complete ingredient list and method. Choose one baseline and prepare it as written before experimenting with the flavour.

Use our frappé guide to compare Coffee Frappé and Coffee Milkshake presets. A drink containing coffee can still be a Milkshake-preset recipe.

A flavour swap can also be a sugar change

Check the bottle rather than assuming two caramel or vanilla products are interchangeable. As an illustrative example, 40 ml of syrup labelled 50 g sugar per 100 ml contributes 20 g sugar. The same 40 ml of a product labelled 0 g contributes none. Equal flavouring volumes therefore need not leave the freezing balance unchanged.

This is why a sugar-free flavour substitution needs a recipe review rather than an automatic one-for-one swap. Use the SLUSHi calculator to inspect the sugar inputs and the label conversion tool for the arithmetic. The calculation does not account for how a dairy mix aerates.

Make the next batch reproducible

Write down the baseline recipe, coffee product, milk, syrup label, volume and preset. Scale every ingredient together with batch scaling to stay inside your model’s marked working range. Keep a flavour change separate from a batch-size change so you can compare the result.

Plan to dispense promptly. Ninja’s Coffee Frappé instructions recommend serving Milkshake and Frappé drinks within 30 minutes after the preset finishes to reduce foam. That is a texture recommendation, not storage advice.

For an existing problem, jump to thin, icy or foamy milkshake troubleshooting. For a chocolate-and-cream direction, the McDonald’s-style guide explains how to separate flavour inspiration from the original restaurant process.
