Every margarita here is rebalanced for a home slush machine: enough sugar to freeze into a scoopable slush, and the tequila held to a hopper ABV the machine can still chill. Pick a recipe, scale it to your fill line, and pour.

A bar margarita is roughly one part tequila to one part lime to one part orange liqueur. That mix sits near 20% ABV with almost no sugar, so a slush machine just churns it cold. The fix is not less flavor. It is more water and syrup, so the batch lands in the 12–16° Brix slush zone with the alcohol under about 8% in the hopper.
These starting ratios all check out as slushable. They are the same math the catalog recipes use.

SharkNinja asks for at least 4% sugar in anything you pour into a Ninja SLUSHi, and the original FS301 accepts premade inputs between 2.8% and 16% ABV. Every margarita above clears both. The FS301 fills to 64 oz (about 1.85 L); scale up for the XL and Max, and down to about 1.4 L per vessel for the Twist.
Use the spiked program, chill the mix first, and give it the full cycle before judging the texture. Slushable is independent and not affiliated with Ninja or SharkNinja.
The daiquiri belongs here because it is the same problem as a margarita with rum instead of tequila. Purée adds a little sugar but a lot of water, so the syrup does most of the freezing work. The catalog's frozen strawberry daiquiri is the tested version of the row above.
FAQ
Yes, on the spiked program. Keep the finished mix at least 4% sugar and inside the machine's ABV range (2.8–16% input on the FS301, up to 20% on the XL, Max, and Twist), which every recipe on this page does.
About 200–225 ml of 40% tequila per 1.85 L batch, plus 75–100 ml of orange liqueur, keeps the hopper under about 7% ABV. More than that and the batch stays soft or refuses to freeze.
Too much alcohol or too little sugar. Check the hopper ABV first, then the Brix. A splash more syrup or a cup of water fixes most watery margaritas; the Fix My Slush tool walks you through it.
Usually, yes. Most mixes read 20–30° Brix on their own, so they need dilution once you add tequila. Enter the mix, the tequila, and water into the slush ratio calculator and adjust until it reads 12–16° Brix.
Slushable is a free app and recipe library for home slush machines. Every recipe is rebalanced to the right sugar (Brix) and alcohol (ABV) so it actually freezes into a smooth slush — no watery puddles or rock-solid blocks.
These recipes are dialled in for countertop slush machines like the Ninja Slushi. You can still blend them as a frozen drink, but the sugar and alcohol are tuned specifically so they freeze cleanly in a machine.
Yes. Every recipe is free to browse here, and the Slushable app is a free download. Open any recipe in the app to scale the batch to your machine and run a guided freeze.
It's almost always the Brix or ABV. Too much sugar or alcohol stops a mix from freezing; too little turns it to ice. Slushable works those numbers out for you, so each recipe lands in the slushable zone.
Absolutely. The library has plenty of zero-proof, family-friendly recipes alongside the frozen cocktails, all balanced to the same fluffy texture.
