Berry Banana Breakfast Smoothie Slush

Make these preparations before you start the machine.

Method

   Combine the fruit

   Add the fresh banana puree and fresh mixed berry puree to a large pitcher or mixing container.

   Add juice and syrup

   Pour in the apple juice and 2:1 simple syrup, then whisk or blend until the base is completely smooth and evenly combined.

   Chill the base

   Refrigerate the mixture until cold before adding it to your slush machine or freezing setup.

   Freeze and serve

   Churn or freeze until thick and icy, then pour into glasses and serve immediately.

Tips

• Chill the fruit purees and apple juice before mixing so the batch sets up faster and tastes fresher.
• Stir the mixture well before adding it to the machine, especially if the banana puree has settled.
• Serve soon after churning for the smoothest, most spoonable texture.
• If making ahead, refrigerate the mixed base and give it a thorough stir before freezing or churning.
